Banner Dedication for Columbanus Lodge No 9941
Members of Lodge of Honour was fortunate to witness a rare Banner Dedication Ceremony for Columbanus Lodge no 9941 on Saturday the 19th January 2019.
A lot of preparations and rehearsal went into this meeting. The Banner Dedication took place at the Keynsham Masonic Hall and was performed by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Somerset team led by RW Bro. C.A.S. Hadler, the Provincial Grand Master for Somerset.
The Columbanus Lodge is a motorcyclists lodge that meet peripatetically by dispensation at various venues in Somerset as well as in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
Members of the Lodge of Honour were there at the beginning when the Columbanus Lodge was Consecrated on Saturday 20th May 2017. The Banner Dedication was another chapter of Columbanus Lodge’s history that our lodge is proud to be a part of it.
It was a ceremony that vast majority of brethren will not have seen as it is performed only rarely. We are most fortunate to have this opportunity to attend and witness the unusual event for ourselves.
The Worshipful Master of Lodge of Honour would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Columbanus Lodge, it’s Worshipful Master, Officers and Brethren on another successful event and may the lodge continue to grow and prosper. We would certainly be back again in the future.
A special thanks to the Columbanus Lodge Treasurer and the Lodge of Honour Secretary for inviting us to this special occasion.
For the festive board we had Haggis, Neeps & Tatties, followed by Roast Pork with Seasonal Vegetables for mains and finished with Bread and Butter Pudding for dessert.
