Curry Club March 2025: A Taste of Nepal at Yak Yeti Yak
The third Lodge of Honour Curry Club meet for 2025 took place on Friday, March 28, at the highly acclaimed Yak Yeti Yak restaurant on Pierrepont Street, in the heart of Bath. Following memorable evenings at Giggling Squid in January and The Pearl in February, the brethren eagerly embraced the vibrant and authentic flavours of Nepalese cuisine.
Ten brethren gathered for the March Curry Club, including distinguished visitors from Royal Cumberland Lodge and Royal Sussex Lodge. Representing Lodge of Honour were the Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Treasurer, Director of Ceremonies, and Inner Guard, alongside Curry Club regulars from other lodges, including Past Masters and junior members. The evening was marked by delightful conversations, laughter, and camaraderie, complementing an exceptional culinary experience.
Yak Yeti Yak, voted Bath’s Best Restaurant in 2023, has been serving delicious Nepali dishes for over two decades. Known for its friendly and relaxed atmosphere, the restaurant specializes in traditional Nepalese fare, alongside contemporary interpretations of classic recipes—all prepared freshly to order.
The brethren enjoyed a variety of dishes, with notable highlights including:
- Set Main Course: Individually prepared dishes served with rice, orange dal, and freshly made chutney, with nine tempting options to choose from.
- Chicken Bhutuwa: Tender chicken breast sautéed with ginger, garlic, fresh spring onions, and mild peppery spices.
- Pharsi Ra Kalo Channa: A delightful vegetarian dish of butternut squash and black chickpeas stir-fried with turmeric and gently spiced.
Our Junior Warden enthusiastically shared his experience, saying, “Definitely revisiting this place! In the 5½ years I’ve attended Curry Club, this was the first time I actually enjoyed a genuinely ‘weapons grade’ spicy dinner.” Meanwhile, our Inner Guard warmly praised the venue: “Great night, many thanks, guys—definitely a place to revisit.”
As the evening concluded, all agreed that Yak Yeti Yak provided not just an exceptional dining experience, but also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen bonds and enjoy great company. Plans are already underway for the next Curry Club gathering, as the brethren eagerly look forward to yet another memorable culinary adventure.
