No, we did not miss our curry in August. Even though it was our summer break, Curry Club did not stop for us. August’s Curry meet was at Tulsi Tandoori after drinks at The Boater.

Five members from the Lodge of Honour including a presenter attended the Communication Academy on the 31 July 2023 at Bath Masonic Hall. The event was attended by Lodge Communication Officers and members from all across the Province of Somerset.

Originally organised for the Grand Eastern on Quiet Street, we had to switch the venue for our Curry Club in July at the very last minute due to gas line repairs. Our fall back was the Panahar on Moorland Road.

For the first time in the Lodge of Honour’s Curry Club history, we ended up in a basement on Milsom Street for our Curry Club meeting in June. A unique Indian restaurant in Bath, Bengal Brasserie is located in the basement of a high street shop.

For our 27th Curry Club, we picked Giggling Squid in Bath. Our party of 7 people included two friends from other lodges. It was an enjoyable evening followed by drinks at Garrick’s Head just across the road.

One of our favourite curry restaurants is the Panahar on Moorland Road. For our 26th Curry Club meet, we chose to come back to Panahar Indian Cuisine. There were 12 of us including two members from our sister lodges and a potential candidate.

At our March Regular meeting, we had a presentation of the history of our lodge during the war times, an explanation of the tracing board for our new lodge members and a visiting brethren from the province led by VW Bro Batley.

We kicked off the new year in 2023 in style, with a new candidate for initiation. After the ballot proved in his favour and with permission from the RW Bro R Guthrie, Provincial Grand Master, he was promptly initiated into freemasonry according to our ancient rites and customs.

Our installation meeting in December was a milestone for the Lodge of Honour. This is the first time in years we had a full year’s worth of meetings since the pandemic.

The Lodge of Honour’s Curry Club is a celebration of our mutual love of a good curry.
