This past September, the Lodge of Honour’s Curry Club gathered at the renowned Bengal Brasserie for yet another evening of lively conversation, culinary exploration, and a shared love for the rich, bold flavors of Indian cuisine. Set within the vibrant atmosphere of this well-known establishment, it was an evening to remember.
Our Annual Potluck Lunch for family and friends took place this year at the Bath Masonic Hall, marking a much-anticipated return since our last gathering in the Summer of 2022. The event was long overdue, and it was wonderful to see both familiar faces and new ones gathered once again.
While Masonic activities take a pause for the summer, our Lodge of Honour Curry Club carries on. In fact, the Curry Club in August saw some 9 members and friends attending which is more than the average. We met this time at Thai Basil on Walcot Street.
After months of preparations, the day finally arrived. An Emergency Meeting was held to perform a Raising Ceremony for one of our junior members. A Raising is always a special occasion as it is a true and ‘final’ induction into the craft of freemasonry. For this particular junior member, this event was made even more special with his father in attendance.
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, Lodge of Honour members including the WM, DC, ADC, Secretary and Tyler were at the Provincial Annual General Meeting. Held in Webbington Hotel near Axbridge, Somerset, it was a significant gathering of approximately 600 Freemasons from all over Somerset and beyond.
Fresh from a double initiation in February, we jumped into our March meeting with another double. This time, a double second for the same candidates.
The last time the Lodge of Honour had a Double Initiation was when the current Secretary was in the Chair of KS, way back in 2019. This together with the Membership Challenge Visit (MCV) from members of the province and a member’s 40th anniversary celebration as a mason as well as coinciding with the Lodge’s 199th anniversary made our first meeting of 2024 truly memorable.
After a long break from freemasonry, and with Christmas and New Year out of the way, our Curry Club met again in January. We reached out to lodges that meet in Bath and had members from Royal Sussex Lodge and Royal Cumberland Lodge joined us.
The Lodge of Honour and Priory Lodge no 6913 have always had a special relationship. Some of the members of our lodge are also members there and we had regular visitors joining each others meetings.
