Curry Club February 2026 – Bengal Brasserie
The February edition of the Lodge of Honour Curry Club returned to an old favourite, the Bengal Brasserie on Milsom Street in Bath. It is safe to say that the venue has been on our list at least once a year so this visit is a tick in the check box for 2026.
The evening was well attended, particularly by our junior members and potential members, making it another excellent opportunity for fellowship and informal conversation. They were well supported by several senior brethren of the Lodge including Past Masters, the Senior Warden, Membership Officer, Mentor, Secretary, and Inner Guard, all keen to make the evening welcoming and engaging.

Seated together along a long table in the restaurant’s cosy basement dining area, opposite a row of booth seating, the group quickly settled into lively conversation. The evening began with a round of poppadoms accompanied by a selection of homemade chutneys, a traditional and much-enjoyed start to the meal.
For the main course, members chose from a wide range of dishes. Many opted for well-loved favourites such as chicken tikka masala, madras, jalfrezi, and dhansak, served with rice and freshly baked naan breads. Others were more adventurous, selecting from the Chef’s Specials or even trying dishes from the off-menu options, showcasing the restaurant’s impressive range of flavours.
As always with the Curry Club, the evening was about much more than the food. Conversations flowed easily across the table, covering life in general, shared experiences, and of course Freemasonry. For the benefit of our potential members, brethren took the opportunity to explain what to expect from Lodge life, the camaraderie it offers, and the opportunities for personal development and friendship.

Once the meal concluded, the evening did not end there. A number of members continued their discussions with a short walk to a nearby local pub, extending the fellowship well into the night.
While a few familiar faces, including the Worshipful Master, Treasurer, and Immediate Past Master were unable to attend this month, they have already promised to join the brethren for the March Curry Club.
Overall, it was another successful and well-attended Curry Club gathering, reaffirming its place as one of the Lodge’s most enjoyable and relaxed social events. It remains a wonderful opportunity for new and longstanding members alike to come together, and it is always open to family and friends who wish to experience the friendly atmosphere of the Lodge.

The Lodge of Honour Curry Club meets on the last Friday of every month, with two exceptions each year: June, when the Lodge hosts its popular Pot Luck evening, and December, when the festive season takes precedence.
We look forward to seeing many more brethren, friends, and guests at the next Curry Club in March.
